Beenham Parish Plan

Why do we need a Parish Plan?

To give the Parish greater influence over key decision makers and developers
...by anticipating the future needs of the community, creating a shared vision, and communicating it.

To improve the quality of life in Beenham
...by involving the whole the community in making projects happen that will preserve the best of the past and start some new initiatives.

What will change as a result?

We will be better placed to make changes which the community wants and to find funding for them

We may have greater influence over future land and property developments within the parish boundary.

People will feel included, involved and empowered.

We will have preserved, changed and initiated certain aspects of parish life for the better.

What will the Parish Plan cover?

In short, every aspect of life in the parish, including:

● Traffic, roads and paths
● Public transport
● Local facilities (e.g. Sport / shop & pub...)
● Youth facilities
● Environment & recycling
● Historic preservation
● Local businesses
● Housing development

How can I help?

The spirit of the Parish Plan is inclusive, to encourage community involvement, to make local democracy work.

It doesn’t matter whether you have been in the parish for three months or 30 years. If the future of the village interests you, then we would like your support on the Parish Plan. Think about your skills and interests: for example, you might have experience in project management, research, design, writing etc.

The Parish Plan Steering Group will comprise the following:

● Project co-ordinator
● Data base management & communication
● Financial management
● Fund raising
● Secretary
● Youth representative
● Research co-ordinator/support

There will also be several different action teams conducting researching, analysing feedback and making recommendations for each aspect of the project.
